Students Receive Awards at Model United Nations Conference

Several Avon Lake High School student delegates attended the Model United Nations of the University of Chicago Conference (MUNUC XXIII) February 3-6, 2011. Model United Nations provides educational experiences to high school students as they participate in debates, negotiations, and resolve global issues through the simulation of international organizations.   full story

Best Communities for Music Education

The NAMM Foundation recently named Avon Lake as one of the best communities for music education in the United States.  The NAMM Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Carlsbad, California whose mission is to advance active participation in music making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs from the international music products industry.  Their 11th annual "Best Communities for Music Education" program acknowledges schools and districts across the U.S. for their commitment to and support of music education in the schools.  full story
